You’ll work at one of two severely overcrowded and under-funded Zanzibar schools that educate a total of 8,000 children. Working at these schools, your pupils have the option of teaching, coaching sport or engaging in construction work. Student groups have the chance to make a tangible difference and improve prospects for local children in a sustained, manageable way.

Explore Bhaktapur, one of UNESCO’s least-known but most amazing conservation projects, with its exquisite temples and royal palaces. Take a guided walking tour of Durbar and Pottery Square, meandering along narrow, cobbled alleyways. Drive along winding mountain roads, past rice terraces and forested hills towards Nuwakot, located 75km from the capital.

Explore the city's Bazaar, the centrepiece for the local community, drive west past terraced hillsides to Pokhara. You'll walk on paths that link small farming communities. Tackle steep climbs and wellworn inclines. On the final ascent, be rewarded with views of majestic Fishtail Mountain and the Annapurna ranges.

Morrocco, one of Africa's most diverse countries. Perfect for Geography students! Enjoy a walking tour of the city centre including a visit to the souk. Travel into the mountains to the Imlil Valley, here learn about traditional cooking techniques and the importance of subsistence agriculture. Cruise through green valleys, over the Atlas Mountains at the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2260 metres above sea level), arriving at Ouarzazate.

Journey on to an oasis settlement of underground houses. Here you’ll encounter nomadic farmers and explore the rolling dunes in Draa Valley. Meet your camelteers and begin your camel safari. Set up camp and prepare a traditional Moroccan dinner before bedding down in big, Bedouin-style tents.

Your pupils will volunteer in Nakuru, Kenya’s fourth largest town. Assisting with teaching, sports coaching or construction work, their project work will change lives. Building on the work carried out by other schools, your trip will help to provide clean water, daily meals and an education for children living in some of Nakuru’s most severely deprived communities.
